A reminder that recreation Cards will be available starting Monday, September 23rd, 2019, during office hours from Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.

Pick-up locations until October 6th:

  • City of Saint John Payment Centre (Shoppes of City Hall (Level M), 15 Market Square)
  • City of Saint John Parks and Recreation Department (171 Adelaide Street)
  • City of Saint John Municipal Services Building (175 Rothesay Avenue)

Convenient evening and weekend pick-up times are also available at all three locations as follows:

  • Tuesday, September 24th – 4:30pm-8:30pm
  • Thursday, September 26th – 4:30pm-8:30pm
  • Saturday, September 28th – 10:00am-6:00pm
  • Sunday, September 29th – 10:00am-6:00pm
  • Tuesday, October 1st – 4:30pm-8:30pm
  • Thursday, October 3rd – 4:30pm-8:30pm

Residency Verification Method
Option 1
§  Valid New Brunswick driver’s license or New Brunswick photo identification card
Option 2 – Any two* of the following (must be currentaddress and name must be consistent for both):
A. Lease agreement (residential; must be completed and signed by landlord and tenant)
B. Canadian passport (completed with passport holder’s home address)
C. Only one of the following may be counted (originals only; photocopies not accepted):

§  Government of Canada or Government of New Brunswick issued benefit statement (e.g., disability benefits, EI, housing benefits, CCB) – not older than 2 months

D. Only one of the following may be counted:

§  Saint John Energy bill (residential) – not older than 2 months; or

§  Saint John Water bill (residential) – not older than 6 months

Many of our skaters will be taking part in the Hampton meet this weekend so the following changes will be made to the schedule this coming Saturday.
Groups 1, 2 & 3 – Cancelled
Group 4 & 5 – No Changes (Group 3 skaters not taking part in the Hampton Meet can skate with Group 4 from 11:30-12:15pm)

There are a number of changes to this Saturday’s schedule because of the Dieppe Meet and a Hockey Tournament.
Please note that groups 3, 4 & 5 lessons start early.
Group 1: Cancelled
Group 2: Cancelled; however Group 2 skaters not taking part in Dieppe can skate with Group 3.
Group 3: 10:00am to 11:15am (Please make sure you arrive early to help with board pads)
Group 4: 11:15am-12:00pm
Group 5: 12:00-12:30pm

The city has fixed the problem at the Arena and it is open this morning.

However, the weather is not looking good for the remainder of the day or into the evening.    There is currently a highway advisory of “not recommended to travel” for Highway 1.

With this and the safety of our skaters and coaches in mind we are going to  CANCEL ALL CLASSES TODAY.
