SJASSC will be hosting the Level 1 Officials Clinic the weekend of the Charles Gorman Meet. If you already volunteer at competitions or think you might in the future you should attend this course so that you can be recognized for your efforts. This is also a great introduction to all the different roles that go into making a meet run well. Parents in Groups 1, 2 & 3 should strongly consider attending. Members from other clubs are also welcome to attend.
What: Learn to Officiate (Level 1 Officials Clinic)
This is the base course to orient all officials so they may understand where they fit in, what is going on around them and how to develop further.
This course will discuss all positions (timing, lap counters, meet recorders ect), rules, race formats, tracks, governing structure and advancement, etc.
Who may attend: No previous officiating experience is required.
Previously level 1 clinic attendees may attend as a refresher.
Age 16 or older preferred, younger accepted with parents permission.
When: Friday night Dec 7, 2018 at 7pm
Where: King’s Country Room at the Hilton Hotel.
1 Market Square, Saint John, New Brunswick, E2L 4Z6.
Please confirm attendance by sending an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
, so we can make sure we have room for everyone, advise of any changes, and can document attendance for official training records.
SJASSC would like to welcome all of its Alumni Skaters to come out for a skate Thursday December 20th.
Reconnect with old friends and enjoy some time on the ice.
Good luck to our athletics competing to make New Brunswick’s Canada Winter Game team this weekend at Harold Joyce Memorial Championship; Noah Buote, John Crawford, Benjamin Herbert, Emily Kay, Sam Myers, Claire Oliver, Eric Verschoor.
