FUNdamentals Meet; Saturday November 3rd 9am – 2pm

 Charles Gorman Arena, 80 University Ave. N, Saint John, NB

Please arrive early to make sure you have enough time to check in and get dressed before your first race. To get in as much fun as possible, the first race will start at 9am sharp! The first division should be ready to be called to the bullpen for 8:50am.

 

Lunch break will happen from 12:15pm-12:45pm so that our group 5 skaters can have their practice.

Racing will start back at 12:45pm.  If your skater is the first race after lunch please have them dressed and ready to go for 12:40pm.

There is a Tim Horton’s and Wendy’s nearby but we recommend bringing your lunch or sending someone out to get it.

 

There will be a bake sale upstairs so bring your change!

There are a few spots available for the Ellis Edge Short Track Camp!

Open to all clubs.

Registration deadline is September 25th.

Suitable for skaters ages 10 and up with a recommended minimum 400m time of 56 seconds.

Cost: $290 per skater

Can you set up a bake sale?  Can you place a club clothing order?  Any good at computer work?  Do you like taking pictures?  Do you have a great fundraising idea?   Let us know, we can probably use a helping hand. Anyone interested in giving a little of their time for any of skating event or task, please step forward, more hands make light work!

SJASSC  is proud to welcome back Sue Ellis to coach our young athletes for a weekend of high intensity learning.

Lets get the season started with a strong technical session to learn, review and tune up the fundamentals.   Sue Ellis and her team offer skaters an opportunity to build on their technical base with their ability to assess and apply the correct adjustments and drills.   Sue Ellis  has been coaching for over 30 years, is former US Olympic coach and has been running speed skating camps under Ellis Edge for 15 years.  See more about Sue on her website www.ellismethod.net .

Saturday & Sunday

* 8-930am OFF Ice Instruction

* 10am-12pm ON Ice Instruction

* 12- 1:30pm Lunch (on your own)

* 1:30-3:00ppm OFF Ice Instruction

* 3:30-5:00pm ON Ice Instruction

* 5-5:30pm Wrap up

 

Camp is open to skaters with maturity to understand and the focus to work on techniques presented.  Minimum age of 10, and recommend minimum 400m time of 56 sec.  At the coaches discretion.  Skaters will be grouped by ability.

Online Registration only.  SJASSC skaters have until Sept 16 10th at 6pm to register.  Remaining spots will then be offered to other club skaters, with a Sept 23rd midnight deadline.  Or until 25 spots are filled.   First come, first serve, with payments included.
