MISSION STATEMENT

to provide the opportunity for youth in the Saint John and surrounding area -
to participate, learn, enjoy and excel in the sport of speed skating

to nurture and train skaters to participate in National Competitions, Canada Games, International Competition and the Olympics

to continue to develop coaching in order to preserve the continuation of the sport within the Saint John and surrounding area

to enable all skaters regardless of age or financial ability to participate fully at all levels in the sport of speed skating
We believe that sport develops the whole self. Values of fair play, teamwork and dedication will stay with athletes for the rest of their lives

Hello to all of you in the Saint John Amateur Speed Skating Club this year,
Our Club is starting to gear up and prepare for the yearly speed skating Meet that we host in Saint John at Harbour Station in January. This year it will be held on the weekend of January 7th – 8th . The Meet is titled The Charles Gorman Memorial Meet and our venue is sponsored by Irving Oil for the 2nd year. Attached is a letter that you may use to invite further sponsorship in terms of money for board pads, ads in the meet program, items for the silent auction held at the meet, food donations or other services we could make use of for the club or the meet specifically. This letter also offers 3 levels of major sponsorship with attached benefits of recognition for the business through their logos placed on our website, meet program and board pad covers. THERE ARE SPONSORSHIP OPTIONS FOR BUSINESSES NO MATTER THE SIZE. YOU AND I CAN BE SPONSORS THROUGH DONATIONS FOR THE SILENT AUCTION OR BY PURCHASING A ¼ PAGE AD WITH WELL WISHES FOR OUR SKATERS.

Please forward this letter to people and businesses that you work with or buy services from and ask them to consider making SJASSC part of their sponsorship plans this year.
Print out this letter and take it in to places you work and frequent and talk to the business people about sponsorship
FOLLOW UP with those who showed interest. That can make all the difference in gaining sponsorship or losing it.
Be ENTHUSIASTIC AND PROUD OF OUR SKATERS AND CLUB when approaching possible sponsors. Our athletes and coaches work incredibly hard and speed skating is a great sport so let people know about us and what we do!
