About SJASSC

Fall Registration coming soon

Exciting news, our Learn to Skate program will be offered on new days and times.

We are working with the city to officially finalize the last few things; however, we are pleased to announce that our Learn to Skate program will now run Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Starting at 1830 on October 14, 2025.

Also new to this year, some of our groups will be running in tandem with each other starting at 1900.

This will allow us to have more coaches on the ice and offer the mentorship older skaters provide to younger skaters by watching what they do on the ice. We will also be able to offer more lessons over the season. No time lost due to tournaments over the weekend.

We look forward to sharing all the details as soon as we can and having registration open once those details are finalized.

Jumpstart Funding For Families In Need

Hello Parents and Skaters. Jumpstarts offer fundings to athletes in skating and speed skating programs that meet their criteria.

I received an email confirmation from their team that our programs qualify for their fundings. Please check them out and apply if you qualify for their other requirements.

This link explains the requirement to qualify for Jumpstart’s Individual Child Funding: https://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/pages/individual-child-grant-guidelines A link for the application is at the bottom of the provided page.

This program is offered to families requiring financial assistance and applies to families:

  • meeting specific financial criteria as per Revenue Canada’s Low-Income Cut-Offs (LICO) chart
  • receiving the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)

2020-2021 Registeration and COVID Rules

Hello parents and skaters. Our skating and speed skating season will be starting as usual mid-October. We apologies for all delays in getting our rules and regulations known to you at this point in time.

We are still finalizing them and we will share them with you shortly.

As you all know COVID is a new territory for all of us and we are working and coordinating our rules and principles with those of the city.

Stay tuned
